ACMNZ Newsletter: February 2010

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you all in the worthy Name of Jesus, and Happy New Year to you all!

Despite many forecasts of uncertainty in the media for 2010, we who believe God are confident for this year. “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:9). This is the promise of God for everyone. We are to be people having sufficient for our needs, plus more to share out to others as a witness to the Lord.

For many of the ACMNZ churches, 2009 proved to be a solid year of blessing and increase. Let’s build on that and let the name of Jesus be lifted high! Be blessed abundantly as you move boldly forward this year.

Convention 2010

The annual autumn Convention will soon be happening so it is time to plan ahead and factor in to your local church agenda.

Guest Speakers

Each Convention we invite in senior leaders of local churches that are having significant impact in our Nation. We usually have New Zealand ministries that are equal to overseas ministries, but have the advantage of knowing New Zealanders well. We need to know what God is saying in our Nation.

Our Guest Speakers are:

Don Barry, Senior Pastor of Gateway Christian Centre, Hamilton and

Martin Steel, Senior Pastor of Harbourside Church, Takapuna.

Our guest speakers will each speak for one night meeting and for the training sessions for leaders, Friday and Saturday mornings. Opportunity for personal ministry to leaders will follow the morning sessions.

Convention Dates

Commencing Thursday, 7pm, March 11th and concluding noon, Saturday, March 13th. Afternoons are free.

Convention Focus

The primary focus is to strengthen Christian Leaders, and by that to strengthen local churches. That is the Apostolic vision of the Book of Acts, and is ours also.

Secondly, to provide opportunity for all levels of leadership in local churches to come and be built up. This is open also to potential leaders who sense God’s call in their lives. It is open to all in the Body of Christ.

Thirdly, to provide opportunity for ACMNZ leaders to renew fellowship with each other. The turnout each year of leaders and people is always encouraging, and shows that the Convention time each year is meaningful and special. Let’s keep it that way!

Accommodation

There are many motels in Whangarei City. For those who need to be billeted (for whatever reasons), please contact reception at Christian Renewal Fellowship, weekdays, 9am-3pm, 09)4386875, or phone the host pastors at 09) 430 8886 or 09) 436 0777. The main thing is come!

Venue For Friday Morning Leaders’ Training

Exciting major building construction is underway as a two storey block for Christian Renewal School continues. It is likely that an alternative venue for the Friday morning training session will be scheduled. An announcement will be made at the opening session on Thursday night, as well as information to be found on our website: www.christianrenewal.org.nz.

Anyone arriving at Christian Renewal Fellowship, 2 Tarewa Road, Whangarei, will easily be redirected.

The two public night meetings and Saturday’s Leadership training will be at 2 Tarewa Road.

Building For The Future

Convention is not just another meeting, nor is it a business conference. It is to build the local churches of today and tomorrow! Apostolic vision sees that, takes hold of it, and moves forward.

Registration is FREE. It follows that Convention will benefit: pastors, elders, deacons, youth leaders, small group leaders of all kinds, departmental leaders, outreach workers and more.

Organizing a Team

Note the convention dates, call for response from interested people, there are no registration costs, pool transport etc and arrange time off as needed. Each year we find situations where arrangements are left to the last minute, and people who could benefit miss out! Let’s not be hit- and-miss! Let’s really build for the here and now and the future.

Elective Get Togethers

These will take place 5:30 pm Friday evening at 2 Tarewa Road, before the main Convention service beginning at 7pm.

Electives will be held in the school classrooms on our campus at 2 Tarewa Road:

1. Youth Leaders: Leader Symon Drake, youth pastor, Christian Renewal Fellowship.

2. Whanau o Te Atua: Leader David Timoti, senior pastor Lion Of Judah Christian Fellowship, Dargaville.

3. Worship Leaders Tuning Up: Leader Graham Kelly, Creative Ministries pastor, Christian Renewal Fellowship.

4. Hungry for God’s Presence: Leaders, Rod Harris, Principal, Christian Renewal School and Gary Mawson, staff at Christian Renewal School.

5. Women on Fire: Leader Pastor Tui Cruickshank, who with her husband Graham, are senior ministries at Christian Renewal Fellowship.

We are enthusiastic about 2010 and this year’s Convention. Looking forward to seeing you!

God’s best,

ACMNZ Newsletter: December 2008

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you all in the Name of our Lord Jesus!

As we approach the end of 2008 we are reminded that the years slip by quickly. We are nearly at the end of the first decade of the new millennium. Remember the year 2000 and all the fanfare about that? Well, that was nearly eight years ago!

This reminds us as leaders that we need to plan well for the next year ahead, train up people for various roles in leadership, be very active in winning souls and provide good pastoral care. It is more about people than institutions. This is a good time to review your 2008 year; be encouraged by your victories, learn from mistakes and be determined to lift the level on the mediocre. That’s what it takes to lead in these more difficult times that are in front of us.

Our focus needs to remain on the Great Commission. In fact, as more New Zealanders face economic hardship, we may well see more people coming into the churches.

The writer to the Hebrews said “we are not of those who draw back…”. This is not a time for our people to be fearful. God is still with us no matter what the economic times may bring. Let our church meetings be full of hope and joy! This is a time for leaders to role model that.

Northland ACMNZ End of Year Event
Evangelist Weston Carryer was the guest speaker at an end of year get together for Northland ACMNZ leaders, hosted at Christian Renewal Fellowship.

A good turnout of leaders and churches resulted and a most enjoyable time was had by all. Weston shared wonderful testimonies from all over New Zealand of God’s healing power. He followed this by a timely word on “The Authority of the Believer” and then demonstrated that authority with an extended operation of very accurate words of knowledge, the gift of faith and healings and miracles.

A luncheon time followed, concluding a good time together.

Awanui, Far North
Wallace and Margaret Bridgford attended the get together, as they had for the March Convention. They expect to commence a new Fellowship early next year. Meantime their home group is going well.

Christian Schools
Pastors Te Rangi and Veronica Allen have much to praise God for at their bi-lingual Kura at West Auckland. It is the only such Christian Kura in New Zealand and this says much for the leadership of the school.

At Whangarei, Christian Renewal School has had another good year with enrolment climbing all year. Academically last year, the school had the highest percentage of NCEA passes in all secondary schools in Northland. Rod Harris as Principal leads a good team.

Village Church, Hikurangi
Morgan and Denise Allan pastor this thriving local church set among farmland just north of Whangarei City. During 2008 this church has been much blessed. A highlight is the ongoing youth work reaching unchurched youth.

Kauri Coast Christian Fellowship, Dargaville
David Timoti is a courageous pastor and leads a very supportive congregation. He also has input to the Ngawha Prison further north. The outreach team leaders from CRF Whangarei conducted training times to strengthen Dargaville outreach.

Christian Renewal Fellowship, Onerahi
Ron and Anne Brewer have experienced a growth year in this church they pastor. It’s great to see the enthusiasm of the Onerahi people and the passion they have to reach their community.

Christian Renewal Fellowship, Bream Bay
Shaun and Raneeta Curtis lead this work, south of Whangarei City. This church has also been experiencing steady growth and is positioned to have another good year in 2009.

Gateway Christian Fellowship, Warkworth
Colin and Rochelle Shilston pastor this church and have been experiencing increase also this year. Colin has an excellent teaching word and this has been a real asset in building up this local church.

Bay of Islands Christian Fellowship
Daniel and Susan Flanagan pastor this work and are a very bright and enthusiastic couple. Youth work has flourished this year, most of these youth being unchurched and needy for spiritual change.

Brian and Maureen Morgan, the former/founder pastors attend and encourage. They took a time of leave to tour the South Island and had the joy of leading people to Christ. They came home greatly refreshed.

Christian Country Church Fellowship
Ngutana and Aldyth Kake pastor this Fellowship at their beautiful home, Maruata Valley, in the Glenbervie area, east of Tikipunga, Whangarei. They are a remarkable witness of Holy Spirit vigour, being in their ninth and tenth decades respectively! There would be few couples in Pentecostal ministry in New Zealand who could match that!

On Eagles’ Wings Christian Fellowship, West Auckland
This young church is pastored by Te Rangi and Veronica Allen, using their school venue as the meeting place. Among their various activities is the annual marae noho (live in marae experience), which strengthens Maori outreach.

Christian Renewal Fellowship, Whangarei City Central
(Led by senior ministries Graham and Tui Cruickshank and assisted by three other full time pastors plus several voluntary departmental pastors).

This church maintains a strong Holy Spirit honouring witness in Whangarei City and District. Since its inception 32 years ago, it has maintained a nurturing ministry to more local church leaders and churches. It is a living testimony to our Lord’s words “give and it shall be given to you.”

Highlights this year have been the outreach team going into the City streets until early morning hours, outreaches to the inner City park and like outreaches to Northland ACMNZ churches. This team will be in the Bay of Islands over Christmas with Daniel and Susan Flanagan.

Other highlights have been the placement of 62 deacons and deaconesses mid year – evidence of a great team spirit in the church. The Bible College Training courses are being revised and going online progressively. ACMNZ churches can tap into this training resource to train their people and leaders. Much effort and fundraising has been progressing towards redeveloping the Christian School buildings on campus before construction of the new worship auditorium.

The missionary vision constantly enlarges with Christian Renewal International now working in 10 nations with over 200 churches and several Bible Colleges and one orphanage involved. Hallelujah!

Editor’s Personal Notes
Hi folks! It has been a joy this year to touch base with most of our leaders and churches, especially at the annual Convention. Also Tui and I have ministered at Dargaville, Bream Bay, West Auckland and Onerahi. The Northland get together was a valuable rapport time as well. Tui and I will be in Fiji and Tonga from mid December encouraging 5 CRF churches in Fiji before speaking at a Conference involving most Pentecostal groups in Tonga.

I have just launched my latest book, “The Message of the Cross”. It is a great teaching resource for local church leaders, useful for small groups or local church night schools and more. Please email us if you would like to purchase copies.

Convention 2009
This is an official notice!! Mark it into your 2009 dairy. Thursday night to noon Saturday March 5th – 7th 2009, hosted at CRF, 2 Tarewa Road. Plan to be there. One of our guest speakers will be Cleopas Lucas, a senior ministry overseeing churches in Tanzania, Africa. He is a fine man of God. We will have more information sent to you, late January.

Conclusion
May God Almighty who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think, according to the power that works in us by His Spirit, bless the going out of this year and the incoming months of 2009. Seasons greetings to you all.

Until we meet again, God’s best,

ACMNZ Newsletter: September 2008

Greetings in Jesus' Name!

Revised College Courses on College Website

For some time now, we have been at work, revising and updating our Bible College courses to make them available globally on the internet.

Course 1 is a thorough workout on the theme "The Message of the Cross".
This subject is not often taught by pators in modern times, and most believers are woefully ignorant of the victories that the cross and resurrection provide. There are 29 sections in this course! It will soon come out in book form as well.

Course 2 is "The Bible, the Word of God".
How can we know without a doubt that the Bible is the Word of God?

Course 3 is "Evangelism".
Another comprehensive yet practical course, sure to fire up any seeking believer.

Course 4 is "Church Planting".
This course enters the apostolic dimension, and is a natural follow through from Course 3.

Course 5-9 deal with "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit".
Excellent material, again covering Christian basics, but not often studied through by believers. The course on the Holy Spirit is up with the best to be found on the internet, and is great for Holy Spirit honouring churches.

More courses will come on stream.

I would sure appreciate it, if you could advertise the availability of this course to your congregation. It will make your church stronger!

Our College website is http://www.biblecollege.co.nz/

Enrolments to: renewal@ihug.co.nz or Christian Renewal Bible College, PO Box 106, Whangarei 0140

Enrolled students are then given the password to the course.

Building the Kingdom of God with you!

God's best,

ACMNZ Newsletter: May 2008

Greetings everyone!

Revival breaks out in Lakeland, Florida, USA

God TV has cancelled paying programmes to totally cover the move of God in Lakeland. The result has been that hundreds of millions of viewers globally have seen marvellous moves of God for well over six weeks non-stop.

The healing ministry is very much to the forefront and thousands are getting saved as well.

At Christian Renewal Fellowship we cancelled our ministry programme and invited the whole congregation to come forward and seek God for more of the Holy Spirit. DVD’s from the God TV channel are being distributed free to people. Fires of revival are being lit in homes and in peoples’ lives.

Our Christian School has also been stirred. Our school principal found 40 students praying, weeping, getting right with God, no staff person organized this. The students are continuing into week no 2.

Our youth church, now renamed “Flame”, is moving on in the fire of God under Symon & Kristy Drake’s leadership.

Healings and miracles are occurring in our meetings. One man put his back out. He was scheduled on the Monday to be at the chiropractors. On Sunday night as we just put aside the usual things we do, and we reached out to God, the man felt his vertebrae go pop, pop, pop. In the morning at Bible College as students prayed for shoulder problems in the same man, he was completely healed and cancelled the chiropractor.

May I encourage all our pastors and leaders to make some bold moves, move with what God is doing at this season, turn your people loose to seek for more of the Holy Spirit. Lift up Jesus, preach repentance and God’s holiness and keep the move of God clean.

If you want sets of DVD’s for small group or church meeting screening, contact our reception at (09) 438 6875, 9am-3pm or my home direct at (09) 430 8886. These DVD’s are free. Don’t wait, move on this now!

Condolences

Our hearts really go out to David Timoti, Kauri Coast Christian Fellowship’s senior pastor in the sad loss of his son over recent weeks. David has come through with his faith stronger. Continue to pray for David.

West Auckland

Te Rangi and Veronica Allen report the good news that at last they have been able to purchase the land and building that house their Kura Kaupapa as well as their church on Sundays. This is the only Christian Kura Kaupapa in our nation.

Through the goodness of God and the goodwill of the vendor, the purchase was able to take place. Isn’t it great to have the favour of God?

Bream Bay CRF

Graham and Tui Cruickshank recently inducted Shaun and Raneeta Curtis as the new pastors of this church. Shaun is a two year graduate of Christian Renewal Bible College and Raneeta a graduate of Christian Renewal School plus a qualified school teacher. Raneeta was brought up in the Ruakaka area. Over the last two years, Shaun and Raneeta have been our youth pastors overseeing the high school aged youth ministry and have done well.

On Mother’s Day, Bream Bay CRF gave out 100 pamper packs to mothers in their area. These were very well received and the church is beginning to make an impact in their community, being Jesus’ hands and feet in a very real way!

ACMNZ Conference 2008

Once again we had another excellent convention with seasoned speakers who are senior pastors of thriving autonomous local churches. Tak Bhana and David Dishroon gave us quality ministry and the Holy Spirit bore witness to that.

Convention Dates for 2009: March 12th – 14th

Ngutana and Aldyth Kake

Ngutana and Aldyth Kake, on the outskirts of Whangarei rejoice at the growth of their rural based Fellowship. A recent highlight was a water baptismal service attended by 100 people followed by a spit roasted sheep and all that goes with a good kai!

An extended covered area is now planned to be built as there are too many people for the house lounge.

Sister Aldyth celebrates her 96th birthday at the end of this month and must be the oldest Pentecostal lady pastor in New Zealand! Happy Birthday Aldyth, from all the AMCNZ family!

Bay of Islands Christian Fellowship, Paihia

Good reports from Daniel and Susan Flanagan who pastor this work on Paihia’s waterfront. A youth group drop in centre has started and 30-35 youth come on Fridays.

Brian and Maureen Morgan, the founder pastors, are touring the South Island for a refreshing break. God is using them with lots of opportunities to share the gospel.

Let’s sign off now! Local churches send in your news items and keep us in touch so we can share with others. Don’t forget those DVD requests to spread revival fires!

God’s best be yours!
